Yesterday one of my pupils came with a Mac pc with OS 10.4, she was even more unlucky!
She had tried to download GeoGebra, and she got in real trouble; the os crashed completely,
afterwards she could not log on her own account, only by her fathers account on the same
machine, but her home directory was showed as empty even to administrator accounts.
I managed to clean it up, here is what I have learnt:
- I am quite sure this has nothing to do with GeoGebra, by pure chance some
bytes in the zip-file are placed in a way stuffit can't handle, and a latent
bug is triggered...)

-The system.log and other logs showed that the uncompressing crashed Finder
and in the process Finder or the uncompressor damaged the filesystem and
rights were changed, so either the user or programs running with user rights could access
the files they needed in the boot process
-There are definitely some problem with at least some versions of stuffit...
- Mac Users with OS 10 should definitely upgrade to at least 10.5, probably a reason why
Apple stopped bundling stuffit in that version...
